Dr. Yaskowich is a registered member of the College of Alberta Psychologists, the Psychologists' Association of Alberta, and the Canadian Psychological Association. She has a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Calgary, and a B.A. Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Regina. Dr. Yaskowich completed a post-doctoral internship in clinical psychology in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Dr. Yaskowich applies a wholistic approach to counselling. She focuses on emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being to help clients discover greater meaning, purpose, and passion in their lives. As the needs of each client are unique, she employs a variety of theoretical and treatment approaches including: cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, existential, and transpersonal therapies. She is enthusiastic and dedicated in guiding her clients to realize their full potential.

Dr. Yaskowich specializes in the treatment of adults with anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder) and mood disorders (major depression, bipolar disorder). She also works with couples and applies a wholistic approach to marital and relationship difficulties.
Another area of specialization is health psychology. Given the intricate relationship between the mind, body, and spirit Dr. Yaskowich helps people develop the motivation for healthy lifestyle changes, manage stress and create a healthy balance in their lives. She works with people suffering from headaches, coping with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, gastro-intestinal disorders, and other physical health conditions.

Dr. Yaskowich’s research is in health psychology, focusing on resilience to chronic and life-threatening physical illnesses. She has presented her findings at conferences across Canada and has published in international, peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Yaskowich has provided psychological counselling to individuals and couples in a number of different settings including: hospitals (psychology outpatient and inpatient programs; chronic pain, cancer, and HIV clinics), a college counselling centre, an international Employee and Family Assistance Program, and in her private practice.
